Repairing the Altar of the Lord
Many believers long for breakthrough, clarity, or spiritual renewal, yet overlook a foundational truth: fire falls on a prepared altar. Before God’s fire descended in power, Elijah first took time to repair the altar that had been torn down. This act was not just physical; it was symbolic. Restoration came before revelation.
The Symbolism of the Altar
In our lives, it’s easy to seek fire—the passion of God, the move of His Spirit, the answers we crave—without doing the slow, faithful work of repairing what’s been broken. The altar represents the heart: a place of devotion, sacrifice, and communion with God. When neglected, it begins to crumble under the weight of distraction, sin, and busyness.
Restoring What Already Exists
God isn’t asking us to build a new foundation from scratch. He invites us to restore what already exists: our relationship with Him. The stones are still there—under the rubble of our priorities, habits, and pain. Fire will fall, but only on what is readied to receive it.
