The Little Girl and the Enemy’s Plan
In Luke 8, we read about a little girl who didn’t just die suddenly—she was sick before she died. Her life slowly faded, her breath weakened, her purpose dimmed. The enemy was at work, trying to snuff out her life, to suffocate the plans and dreams that God had for her.
Neglecting Our Own Dreams
How many of us have let our own dreams die in a similar way? We become so concerned with everyone else’s healing, everyone else’s success, that we neglect our own. We place our neighbors’, friends’, children’s, or even our husbands’ destinies above our own, believing that our dreams are less important, less valuable.
The Danger of Saying “Eventually”
And how many of us have been saying “eventually” for far too long? How many have decided that we’ve missed our chance, that our dream must be dead? But here’s the truth: what the world says is dead, God says is only sleeping.
God Speaks to the Little Girl Within
Today, God is speaking to the “little girl” inside of you. The little girl who once had a dream, who once had a vision, who once lived with a spirit full of joy, jumping and skipping through life. God is saying, “Little girl, ARISE!”
Resurrecting Dead Dreams
What the enemy says is dead, God declares is only sleeping. Jesus is here to shut up the voices of doubt and fear, to take you by the hand, and say, “Girl, GET UP!” Get your fight back, get your dream back, get your vision back, get your energy back, get your health back. Rise up—ONLY BELIEVE—and let Jesus resurrect the dreams and purposes within you.
As Ephesians 5:14 says, “Arise you sleeper! Rise up from your coffin and the Anointed One will shine his light into you!”
Challenge Question:
- Have you allowed your dreams to fade because you were focused on others? What steps can you take to start reclaiming those dreams?
- Do you believe that your time has passed or that you’ve missed your chance? How does God’s promise that what seems dead is only sleeping change your perspective?
- Are you ready to let Jesus take you by the hand and say, “Girl, GET UP”? What areas of your life need resurrection and renewal today?
Let’s Pray
Lord, we come before You acknowledging that we have let some of our dreams fade, believing the lie that they are dead. But we thank You, Jesus, for declaring that what seems dead is only sleeping. We ask You to take us by the hand, to help us rise up and reclaim the dreams, visions, and purposes You have placed within us. Fill us with Your light, strengthen our faith, and help us to ONLY BELIEVE. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
